Based in Berlin, with roots in Greece, photography found its way into my life long before I understood what it meant to me.
Growing up, cameras, film and photographs were always around. My grandfather introduced Fujifilm to Greece as its exclusive distributor and my father continued the family business. Still, for a long time, photography felt more like a business than something personal.
That changed in my early twenties, when a close friend showed me how to use my first mirrorless camera in full manual mode. I began to slow down, to really look. Taking my camera to the streets became a kind of meditation - a way to sharpen my attention and notice details, gestures, and moments I would otherwise pass by. With a camera in my hands, my mind feels quieter and more present.
Photography holds a contradiction that I love: it’s a solitary act, yet it creates a deep, often silent connection with the people and places I photograph. I’m drawn to street photography, candid portraits, and travel, where small, unplanned moments can tell larger stories.
While photography began as a personal practice, over the past few years I’ve also been working professionally as a freelance photographer, collaborating with an NGO and other projects.
